December 11, 2009, Newsletter Issue #306: Connection Before Marriage

Tip of the Week

It amazes me how many couples tell me that they married without feeling connected to each other. Sometimes they say, "I just thought it was the thing I should do." To this I think, "Why would you marry someone who you couldnīt connect with?" I suggest that anyone considering marriage should assess the connection in their relationship. Do you feel you and your soon to be spouse are able to connect on a deep level? It is an important component once the marriage has taken place. If you cannot connect I wouldnīt rush into marriage. I would ensure connection before marriage. A once of prevention, will save a pound of pain.
